The Family Support Ministry meets each Wednesday at 6:00p.m. in Room 106 just south of the main office. This ministry is designed to deal redemptive with the problems and issues plaguing the community. Substance Abuse is treatable and beatable through the application of God’s Word.
The St John Missionary Baptist Church operates on the premise that “Christian Love in Everyday Living” MUST be the goal we strive toward each day. We address these issues in a two-fold fashion:
- To use the Arena of Christian Education to Enlighten those who deal with Substance Abuse
- This support group is organized to foster, nurture, and provide nourishment for individuals, who are addicted, as well as to support and educate their families regarding the abuse.
The books used as tools are the bible, “The Recovery Bible”, “The 12-steps for Christians”, “The Twelve Steps”- A Spiritual Journey Workbook, and the Alcoholics for Christ 12 Step Recovery Workbook.
Our Goal is to direct and restore the alcoholic or substance abuser, the family member, and adult children to a sincere and dedicated relationship with Jesus Christ. Using the written word of God, they are made aware of the mighty tools available to them as Born-Again Believers.
If you are a former “social” user, recovering addict, the child or spouse of an alcoholic, or a friend or family member of an alcoholic/addict, please come out and join us in searching and learning what God has to say about abstaining, recovery, and love. This ministry is a viable part of life and much can be learned from all of the tools we have available to use in everyday living, no matter what the addiction is. ALL INQUIRIES ARE CONFIDENTIAL.
