Enrichment Hour-Sunday School
Our Sunday School mission is the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20), “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,” “baptizing them” in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, “teaching them” to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
The Enrichment Hour purpose is to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Believers of All Ages by providing opportunities and studies that lead God’s people into the turths of the Bible. We believe faith and character are developed by an informed awareness and application of the Word of God to our lives. Classes are offered each Sunday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. and are open to all church members. Several classes are available to our adult members covering all ages and stages of adult life. It is up to you to decide which adult class you would like to attend. Our children and youth classes are assigned by age and grade in school.
In accordance with the mandate of the Great Head of the church, the Enrichment Hour Department is dedicated to reaching every member of the church in order to compel them to be active in one or more facets of the Christian Education Department. Our goal is to meet their individual needs, to encourage the betterment of each family, to improve the church family as a whole and, most of all, to advance the Kingdom of God.
We are excited about the opportunities for Bible study and fellowship available through the Enrichment Hour. We strive to reach our students on their level with exciting, enriching, and empowering lessons on a weekly basis. We invite you to come every Sunday morning to be enriched by biblical teaching offered at this the Lord’s church.
Teacher Training Workshops
The Christian Education Department of St. John hosts a 2 day Teacher Training Workshop each year. The workshop is mandatory for all Enrichment Hour teachers, superintendents, and individuals who are interested in becoming an Enrichment Hour teacher. The workshop is one of the tools used by St. John to assist our teachers in becoming effective teachers of God’s Word, along with the help of the Holy Spirit. We are always searching for spirit-filled, committed individuals who feel the call on their life to become one of God’s instructors. The yearly teacher training workshop is also open to the public…each year churches across the state of Oklahoma attend the workshop.
