Congratulations to Our May Graduates:  Clinton Blackwell, Carlton DeFroe, D’Marea Knight, Kenneth McIntosh Jr., Chanti Walker, Yolanda Carrasquillo, DeJon Harris, Aurea Lawson,  Tyrnae Stephens, Cameron Williamson, Christian Contreras, Gabriel Houston, Quortney Lloyd, Rickey Thomas II and Makinsley Jemison.

June Parrish Fellowship will meet immediately following worship on the South side of the Sanctuary for a brief discussion for the First Sunday Breakfast, the Prayer Room and Repass.

 

May  -  Blood Pressure Awareness. The St. John Nurse Corp. will be checking blood pressures in the Fellowship Hall after morning worship.  Do you know your number? 

 

The St. John Rev. W.K. Jackson Scholarship  applications are due on  Monday, May 21, 2012.

 

THE Scholarship Committee will meet Wednesday, May 22ndat 6:15pm in the Fellowship Hall.

 

VIP Ministry.   May is Senior Citizen Recognition Month.  The VIP Ministry is giving a special tribute for our seasoned saints on Sunday, May 27 during the Moring Service.  We are inviting all VIPs (62 years and up) to be in attendance to receive this honor.

 

Scholarship Committee 23rdAnnual Awards Banquet  (May 26 at 6:30 p.m.)  Tickets are available in the Fellowship Hall following morning worship. Donations are $15.00 per person.   Come celebrate our high school graduates and their family’s big moment.

 

The Usher & Hospitality Annual Day Tickets are available to purchase following morning service in the Fellowship Hall.  The cost is $13.00.  No tickets will be sold at the door. Their banquet is Sunday, June 10, 2012.

 

VBS  -  Truth Seekers Part II  -  June 4-9, 2012

There will be a meal, bible learning session, arts & crafts and activities for the children. Monday-Thursday dinner will be served (5:30pm-6:30pm). Classes begin at 7:00 p.m. Volunteers are still needed in Teaching, Arts & Crafts, and Food Service.  Contact Tashia Miles at 600-8501.

 

The VBS Family Picnic will be June 9, 2012 from 10:00am until 12:00 Noon at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church Park Pavilion (East Parking Lot).

 

Voter’s Registration.  Need to register to vote for the first time?  You can register in the Fellowship Hall on the (3rd) Third Sunday following morning worship.

 

Visual Praise Ministry  will present a Praise Dance Conference June 14-17, 2012.  Their guest clinician is Minister Kim Chere-Hardy from New Orleans.  Registration is $30.00.  A table will be set up in the Fellowship Hall and the deadline is May 26.

 

Joy in the Midst of Sorrow, Grief & Loss Support Ministry that was schedule for Monday, May 28 is postponed due to Memorial Day observance.  We will meet on Monday, June 11 and June 25) at 6:15pm to 7:30pm in Classroom 200, South part of the Building.  Annette Burleigh at 820-9084.

 

ZUMBA CLASS.  Join our Zumba classes, at 10:30 a.m. in the  Fellowship Hall, and the cost is $5.00 per person.

 

8:00 A.M. SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER PERIOD.  The 8am Sunday Morning Prayer Period is in need of YOU.  We meet the 2, 3, 4, and 5th Sunday morning in the Sanctuary, rendering prayer and praise to God.  Come and join us to renew your mind, spirit and soul for the week.

 

MEN’S FRATERNITY GROUP.  Join us for the 2nd phase of our Men’s Fraternity [ages 18 to 40]. They meet each Saturday Morning at 6:00am in the M. L. Jemison Conference Center.

 

MEN’S FRATERNITY GROUP.  Join us for Phase 1, which meets each Sunday Morning at 8:00 a.m.

 

OPERATION TRUTH BOOT CAMP.  [June 11-29, 2012] If you would like to enroll your child (ages 5 thru 18) in Operation Truth Boot Camp, see Elizaeth Adams [641-7265] or Pam Ellis following morning service.
