In 1962, Pastor W. K. Jackson recognized the need to minister to the health care concerns of our congregation. As a result, the Nursing Corps was organized to assist our church family in the promotion, prevention and maintenance of physical and emotional health. Our goal is to impact the well being of our church family and the community through education, health promotion and disease prevention. This ministry will establish a health covenant between itself and the membership that extends through all generations by using education to promote a healty lifestyle. We will use our expertise as professionals to impact the health of our church family and the community and to promote health care careers by being a positive role model. This ministry provides emergency care and first aid to church members and visitors each Sunday; health instructions for the youth of the church annually; offers health seminars for our church family and the community, and assists families of the church with health care in prolonged illnesses, upon request. This ministry also provides mass health screening of diabetes and hypertension on the 1stSunday each month; and administers free flu vaccinations to church members before the peak season.
