SEGUE

SEGUE is St. John's Young Adult Ministry (18-39 years of age). We welcome you to join us every Wednesday Night at 7 p.m. in the M. L. Jemison Conference Center! The purpose of our ministry is to inspire fellow young adults to nurture a personal spiritual relationship with God through Christian fellowship, growth, and evangelism programs that capitalize our gifts and talents as well as address our issues and needs through life's transitions.

We host a variety of fellowship events through community and church service. In 2010, we hosted our 5th Annual Children and Youth Fall Festival and this year will be our 2nd to participate in ShareFest OKC, a statewide community service project. To celebrate our friendship, we host a summer barbecue and a spring game night.  Most importantly, we bolster our spiritual lives with the Word of God. Most recently, we strengthened our knowledge of the Book of Ephesians. We are now closely studying the Book of Psalms.

WHY SEGUE

To SEGUE means "the act of changing smoothly from one state or situation to another."  As young adults, we are continually changing and growing through the life's stages. Our ministry has been tailored to assist our members in making the transitions as seamless as possible. In 2004, a group of young adults; some in college or newly graduated, those who were newly wed or on their way to marriage, and first-time parents who discovered that they had advanced the basics of youth fellowship, also felt that we didn't quite fit well with the experiences of seasoned adults.  We desired an avenue that would allow us to interact with other believers in our age group.

 H2K SUMMIT COMING!!

Romans 8:17 (NIV) states) “Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” As young adults we are Heirs to the Kingdom (H2K); and it is our time to build our ministry to ensure the future of our church. 

SEGUE invites all young adults ages 18 to 40 years young to attend the H2K: Fresh Minds Summit, which will be held February 24 – 25th, 2012 at St. John MBC.  This summit will give all young adults an opportunity to voice what needs to be met by our church and to share ideas to fulfill those needs.
