Scholarship Committee
The St. John Scholarship Committee was established in January of 1983, to administer the St John Scholarship Program. The Scholarship Committee administers the church's scholarship to eligible high school graduates who submit a plan to continue their formal education at a trade, vocational or technical school; college or university, of their choice. The criteria is designed to encourage active, youth member who desire to continue formal education to complete an application for the one-time, non-competitive scholarship. Ten to twelve scholarships are awarded each year. After the first year, each recipient has received the same dollar amount, which has varied over the years, but is presently $1000. The St John Christian Fellowship Scholarship was renamed the "St. John Rev W. K. Jackson Scholarship" in 2001 in honor of our late Pastor, Dr. W. K. Jackson. The Scholarship Committee's 30 plus members meet monthly to plan how best to implement the program.
Scholarship Committee Theme: Investing In Our Youth : Expecting Their Best.
Guiding Scriptures: Proverbs 3:5-6 and 4:1-14, also Ephesians 6:1-3.
The Scholarship Committee host the following annual events:
