Prison Ministry

St. John Missionary Baptist Church Prison Ministry will establish, develop, and implement a ministry to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ within various correction centers and detention facilities; teaching the inmates to  model the principles of "Christian Love in Everyday Living". The Prison Ministry has been active under the leadership of Reverend Norman Barber for 11 years, beginning in 1998. 

To Join This Ministry:  You must show interest and fill out an application which is sent to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.  If you are accepted, the Oklahoma Department of Corrections will respond and give you a date when you will attend an eight (8) hour training session.  Send your name and contact information to Reverend Norman Barber at nbarber@stjohnokc.org; or call 405/478-5656 to begin the membership process.

The Prison Ministry meets the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m.  Special Events October-December 2011:  Prison Ministry Angel Tree Project & Christmas Party.
