Audio/Video Ministry

The purpose of the Audo/Video Ministry is to provide videos of the various services and events to the members of the congregation or many of our sick and shut -in members, so that they will not feel isolated from the church.

The Video ministry began back in 1984, unofficially because of my connection with channels  5 and 4.  Oliver Murray of channel 4 and me, Charles Shepherd of Channel 5 went to Pastor W.K. Jackson and proposed the idea of video taping services.  It was very innovative at that time and we were the first church on the NE side to impliment it.  In 1987,  the video ministry officially began with a documentary of the church, which is in our archieves.  The church purchased a camera, editing equipment and the accessories to achieve our goal of taping on special Sundays and events.

In 2003, the church had an opportunity to have their services broadcasted, therefore we had to improve our equipment in order to become television ready.  We achieved that goal and soon we were on our way.  We were broadcasting from 2003-2004, with an hour long service each Sunday.  We then video taped every Sunday ;Service and special event, something that we are still doing today.  We have new equipment plans in the works for the future that will help enhance our ministry.

We meet each quarter during the church calendar year. If you interested in joining our ministry, just contact Deacon Charles Shepherd or one of the members you see working the camera .  We mostly follow the calendar of events that are posted in the church calendar.
