2017 Fall Revival - It's Revival Time!!

It’s Revival Time, St. John! It’s Revival Time!

Plans are now being finalized for our Annual Fall Revival which has been scheduled for Monday evening, October 23rd through Wednesday, October 25th, 2017 at 7:30 PM nightly.

Once again, we’re excited to welcome back Rev. Dr. Freddy J. Clark as our Guest Evangelist, the founder and imminent pastor of Shalom Church (City of Peace) located in the St. Louis, MO metropolitan area.  Dr. Clark is a native of St. Louis and accepted God’s call to preach the gospel at a young age. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy from Bishop College in Dallas, TX and has also earned both the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis.

Dr. Clark founded Shalom Church (City of Peace) in 1993 on the foundational pillars of preaching, teaching and praying, and his anointed leadership has resulted in continuous ministry growth, both in size, in scope, and in impact on their community.  Dr. Clark serves on a number of boards, advisory boards and commissions, and his leadership in civic, personal and health-related causes has been recognized on both the local and national levels.  Thusly, he is the recipient of several honors and awards including: the Harold Holliday Public Service Award, Missouri Legislative Black Caucus; Strong Families Award, Monsanto Family YMCA; Award of Merit, Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis; Living Legends Award, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated; Interfaith Award, Muhammad Mosque 28; Lifetime Achievement Award, St. Louis Gateway Classic Sports Foundation; Citizen of the Year Award, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; named one of the 100 Most Inspiring St. Louisans, National Association of Colored People (NAACP).  He was also one of the co-leaders of “A Call to Oneness” a march that was the kick-off to a series of efforts focused on a renewed sense of commitment and responsibility from Black men towards their families and the community as a whole.  It garnered the participation and support of over 20,000 African American men in the St. Louis area.

Dr. Clark’s sermons, “The King Has Come” and “Samson’s Weakness”, are published literary works, along with his doctoral dissertation, “Hospitality: A Ecclesiological Practice in Ministry”.  He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., 100 Black Men of Metropolitan St. Louis, and a Lifetime Member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). He and his wife, the former Cheryl Waller, are the proud parents of three adult children: Terrence, Anthony and Michelle.

As has become our custom during each of our revivals, each St. John Parish Fellowship Month and various ministries or auxiliaries will take the lead in “packing the pews” on their special night during the week.  Sis. Diana Franklin, our Parish Fellowship Coordinator, provides outstanding leadership to that effort, and the special emphasis nights are as follows:

Monday Night, October 23, 2017:  Service or Missions Ministries, including WMU, Christian Men’s Fellowship, Family Support Ministry, Biblical Counseling Ministry, Social Service Commission, Public Relations Committee, Fusion, Physical Fitness Committee, VIP Seasoned Saints, and the Luella Dun Children and Youth Departments.  They will be supported by the December, January, February, March, April and May Parish Fellowship Months

Tuesday Night, October 24, 2017:  Enrichment Hour, JMBI, Couples Ministry, Grief & Loss Ministry, and the Scholarship Committee, Nursing Corps and the St. John Wellness Initiative.  They will supported by the June, July, August, September, October and November Parish Fellowship Months.

St. John, don’t miss the 2017 Fall Revival with Dr. Clark!  It will be an exciting time of renewing, refreshing, rethinking, rejuvenating, restoring and realigning our lives with Christ. Our revival theme, “Right Side Up in a World Upside Down” is based on Proverbs 3:5 – 6 which reads, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (NKJV)  If there was EVER a time when the people of God need to maintain our trust in Him it’s NOW, so be sure to come out and BRING someone WITH you to the revival EACH and EVERY night!  Let’s close out our church year on a high note -- being fed and revived by the Word of God, while experiencing spiritual renewal and bringing others to God through Jesus Christ.

Yes, It’s Revival Time, St. John!  It’s Revival Time!
